Hem Pant is the Regional Information Security Officer for Europe and UK for HSBC. Hem has served as a Certified Person and a Material Risk Taker under the Senior Management Certification Regime of FCA, Ireland and Frankfurt. He has extensive and good working relationships across various Regulators globally and the Financial Services sector. He has been actively involved in the development and roll-out of an industry initiative for Enhancing Cyber Security and Resiliency Through Standardization using the FSCP (Financial Sector Cyber Profile) globally. Hem has led the industry initiative on the use of non-inclusive language in technology and cybersecurity.
He is an active member and contributor across various Industry and Government Institutions such as FSCCC (Financial Sector Cyber Collaboration Centre), CMORG CCG (Cross Market Operational Resiliency Group), ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency), EBF (European Banking Federation), FSIE (Financial Sector Information Exchange), set up by NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) etc. He is the Steer-co member of IBSIG (Investment banking Special Interest Group). He has over 20+ years of Global Experience in Information/Cyber Security across Global Systematic Investment Banks, IT, Energy and Utilities sectors. He has made significant contributions and worked closely with the Dutch Regulator DNB and ECB (European Central Bank) to develop the TIBER (Threat Intelligence Based Ethical Red Teaming) framework. He has been a part of the European project for developing the Cloud Certification Program (CSP Cert). He is one among the important thought leaders and contributors towards the Industry initiative to harmonize and standardize Incident Reporting and managing third party oversight.
Hem holds a multitude of industry recognised certifications such as: Google Cloud Security Professional, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CRISC, CEH, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, PRINCE2, ITIL, Six Sigma etc. He has a strong portfolio of successes orchestrating the seamless implementation of new Technologies, Security measures and Innovation. He has been the Strategic Advisor for the Quantum Dawn V transatlantic exercise for testing the communication between Global Regulators and the Financial Sector. He is actively involved in Advocacy on issues related to Cyber security, Third Party Governance and Oversite. Cloud Technology,, Privacy and Data Security and emerging Technologies like Digital Assets, AI and Quantum.
