Zaid A. Zaid is a senior advisor at Orange Court Strategies and a leading voice at the intersection of technology policy, national security, and global affairs. Most recently, Zaid served as Director and Head of U.S. Public Policy at Cloudflare, where he led the company's public advocacy on AI governance, cybersecurity, and cloud security. In that role, he represented Cloudflare in key White House engagements — including with the National Security Council on trusted technology and cloud risk management — and served on the IT Sector Coordinating Council's Cloud Security Working Group. In 2023, he launched Cloudflare's Project Cybersafe Schools at the White House, a program delivering free cybersecurity services to small public school districts nationwide. Prior to Cloudflare, Zaid was Head of Strategic Response Policy for North America at Meta, where he led crisis response and content policy during major geopolitical events. Before that, he served as Special Assistant to President Obama and Associate White House Counsel, advising on congressional oversight, regulatory compliance, and national security. He has also held roles at USAID, WilmerHale, and earlier in his career served as a U.S. diplomat in Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, and at the United Nations. Zaid served on the Biden/Harris transition team for the State Department and international development agencies. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Truman National Security Project fellow, and a non-resident Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress. He chairs the Advisory Committee for the Council for Global Equality and serves on advisory boards at Georgetown University and the board of directors of HALO Trust USA. Zaid holds degrees from Columbia Law School, the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
