Shared Assessments Event Registration and Self-study Purchase – Terms and Conditions
This document sets out the terms and conditions between The Santa Fe Strategy Center LLC d/b/a Shared Assessments (“Shared Assessments”) and you, the user, when you register for any Shared Assessments event or purchase self-study products offered by Shared Assessments. By registering for a Shared Assessments event or purchasing a product offered by Shared Assessments, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions. Please carefully review these terms and conditions below.
Acceptance of Policies and Conditions of Registration
The following Shared Assessments Registration Terms & Conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) apply to all Shared Assessments events and self-study products. Prior to your registration, you must acknowledge and accept the Terms & Conditions contained herein.
Registration is understood as your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions. If you do not want to accept these Terms & Conditions, you should not register.
Event attendee and self-study product purchasers represent and warrant that they have the authority to accept these terms and conditions.
Any individual accepting these terms and conditions on behalf of another registrant represents and warrants that he or she is authorized to do so.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
In the event you wish to cancel your event registration, you must do so in writing prior to seven (7) business days before the event. No refunds will be granted after that time.

There are no fees associated with our refund policy.
If an event is cancelled, each registrant is notified by email of the cancellation and, if applicable, informed of alternative event options. A full refund will be granted for any event cancelled by Shared Assessments that is not rescheduled. If an instructor-led class does not meet a minimum number of registrants, the class may be cancelled, and registrants will be contacted about moving to a future session.

Shared Assessments does not provide refunds on self-study training once that training has been commenced. Please ensure that you can meet the technical and computer system requirements before starting the training.
Complaint Resolution Policy
Shared Assessments makes every effort to provide the best experience for participants. If you are not completely satisfied with the product or event, please contact our Education team at email@example.com or call us during normal business hours at 505-466-6434.
If the complaint is regarding event content or delivery, the appropriate manager and/or instructor will review the complaint and assess the need to make any changes to the course materials or delivery method.
Record Retention Policy
Shared Assessments will retain the following educational program descriptive materials for a minimum of five (5) years: agendas, speaker notes, bios, course curriculum records, and content development records. Content development records include course materials, qualified assessments, author and instructor bios, and author, developer, and reviewer names and credentials.
Attendee/Participant/Product Purchase Records
Shared Assessments will retain the following attendee or participant records for a minimum of five (5) years: dates/locations of program offerings, course announcement information, number of CPE credits earned by participants based on type of event, and all results of program evaluations.
Shared Assessments uses the personal data you provide in this registration for administering your participation in this event. This may include information about the event’s content, event logistics, payment, updates, and additional information related to the event.
Shared Assessments may disclose your personal data to third party service providers engaged by Shared Assessments to assist in the conduct of the event. Information you provide when registering for or participating in an event managed or co-sponsored by parties other than or in addition to Shared Assessments may be shared with those parties, and the treatment of such information is further subject to the privacy policies of those parties. Except as described herein, Shared Assessments will not disclose your personal data to any other third party without your consent except where required to do so by law.
Shared Assessments prohibits discrimination, harassment, and bullying against any person for any reason.
Event conduct and safety
Shared Assessments is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all participants, including staff and vendors, at Shared Assessments-related events. Shared Assessments has zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form at Shared Assessments-related events. Participants are expected to comply with these expectations and respect the rights of others.
If participants witness or are subjected to any such prohibited conduct, they should immediately report the behavior to onsite event staff. Event staff will readily help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.
Liability waiver and release
In consideration of being allowed to register for, and participate in the event, you, the user hereby warrant and represent that you are age 18 years of age or older and freely waive, release from liability, assume all risks, and promise not to sue Shared Assessments or its members, employees, board members, agents, or volunteers for any expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, disability, property damage, or property theft or actions of any kind that you may hereafter suffer or sustain before, during, or after the event, unless said expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, disability, property damage or property theft or actions of any kind is caused by the sole, gross negligence of Shared Assessments. This Liability Waiver and Release is specifically binding upon your heirs and assigns and is knowingly given.
Service as an Invited Speaker
If you agree to speak at a Shared Assessments sponsored event, we may share your contact and biographical information and photograph with event attendees. In some circumstances, we may publish on the respective event website information such as your name, employer, physical work address, work email address, as well as a link to your company website and/or professional LinkedIn page available to the public. The purpose of this is to allow visitors to the event website, including event attendees and speakers, to contact you with questions and requests for more information, and to provide feedback if needed. Additionally, speakers may be asked to complete a release agreement or copyright form prior to their presentation.
Consent to Interview, Photograph, Record and Publish
By attending a Shared Assessments event or any portion thereof, attendees consent to the use of their respective voice, name, and/or likeness being used, without compensation, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity. Attendees further release Shared Assessments, its successors, assigns, and licensees from any related liability.
Shared Assessments may hire professional service providers (photo/video/streaming/audio) to document and display the event experience. Shared Assessments may also use social media (e.g. Twitter) to: (i) post real-time photos and videos to its social media feeds; and (ii) display select submissions from those feeds on monitors throughout the event venue. Attendees and sponsors are encouraged to capture their event experiences and post their own social content from the event (text, photos, audio, video, streaming), provided it does not infringe upon the rights of any attendee, sponsor, third party, or Shared Assessments. Such infringement would include, but is not limited to, defamation or infringement of intellectual property rights. In the event an attendee requires a release or permission to protect the rights of a third party, obtaining such a release or permission shall be the sole responsibility of the attendee.
Recordings of the proceedings of standards development meetings
Shared Assessments applies restrictions on recording the proceedings of Shared Assessments standards development meetings. Restrictions include, but are not limited to, the usage of audio recording, video recording, and photography by participants or observers. No participants or observers may capture any audio and/or video of Shared Assessments proceedings through electronic means without the express written consent of Shared Assessments.
Shared Assessments reserves the right to change, amend, add, or remove any of the above Terms & Conditions in its sole discretion and without prior notice. If one or more of the conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should be deemed invalid by a judicial or legislative body, the remaining conditions will continue to be valid and apply. These Terms & Conditions apply to all event participants, including, but not limited to product purchasers, attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors.
The views expressed by any event attendee, speaker, exhibitor, or sponsor are not necessarily those of Shared Assessments. All attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of all individual or corporation presentations, marketing collateral, and/or advertising.
Badge scanning during the event
Shared Assessments event co-sponsors, exhibitors, and other third parties may directly request your personal information at their exhibit booths or presentations. Providing your information to them is optional, and you should review their privacy policies should you have concerns about how they will treat your personal information.
If during the event you attend a session or program hosted by an exhibitor other than Shared Assessments, you understand and agree that when you present your badge for scanning or when you provide personal data, that information will go to a non-Shared Assessments entity and Shared Assessments takes no responsibility for how that company uses your personal information.
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits Policy
Shared Assessments issues continuing professional education credits for qualifying events and products. Shared Assessments is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor.
One CPE hour is earned for each fifty (50) minutes of active participation (excluding lunches and breaks) for qualifying educational activities and meetings. CPE calculations for online self-study training allocate CPEs using either word count or pilot test duration metrics based on the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs.
Shared Assessments does not issue CPE credits for partial attendance or for non-Shared Assessments sponsored events. Attendance duration is verified via teleconference records and staff verification. Shared Assessments does recognize partial credits from other organizations’ qualifying events.
State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.
By attending the event or purchasing a product, you acknowledge and agree as follows: (a) Shared Assessments may edit and use footage it captures at the event for marketing and promotional activities and for any other lawful purpose in the ordinary course of its business; and (b) due to the prevalence of mobile recording devices in today’s world, Shared Assessments disclaims all liability for the capture of your image in any multimedia format by other attendees at the event.
