Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT)

Nov 8, 2018

Teams established within organizations, industries, and governments that are able to respond to cyber threats. For example: the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) leads efforts to improve the nation’s cyber security posture, coordinate cyber information sharing, and proactively manage cyber risks; and Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI) CERT Division was created in 1988 as the CERT Coordination Center in response to the Morris worm incident. The CERT Division partners with government, industry, law enforcement, and academia to develop advanced methods and technologies to counter large-scale, sophisticated cyber threats.
